SEW for Good: Sewing from the Heart
Sunday, October 25 | 3:30 to 6:30 PM | FREE
All ages and skill levels welcome!
To honour Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we're bringing back Sewing from the Heart with after BREAST CANCER, the Canada-wide charity that provides mastectomy bras and breast prostheses at no cost.
Together, we'll sew heart-shaped pillows for their giveaway kits, which go to women and men recovering from mastectomy or lumpectomy surgery. They're small and simple, and they bring real comfort during recovery.
Our goal is 55 pillows, and we need hands of every skill level to get there. No experience? No problem. We'll have stations for cutting, pinning, sewing, and stuffing, so there's a job for everyone. Kids, teens, and adults are all welcome.
What to Bring
Just yourself! All materials are provided. If you have a sewing machine or tools you love, feel free to bring them along.
What to Expect
A hands-on afternoon where we show you exactly what to do
A role for everyone, whatever your age or experience
Refreshments on us
Every pillow goes straight to someone who needs it
NEW!
First Thursday of every month | 7:00–9:00 PM $20 + HST
SEW Circle
Come together. Make something. Have fun.
SEW Circle isn't a class. It's a community. Once a month, grab your project and sit down to sew with people who get why a good seam matters. The tea and cookies are on us, and you might leave with a new sewing friend or two.
Every few months, we pick a theme to give you a fun excuse to dig out a certain kind of project:
SEW Your Thing: The dress you're halfway through, or whatever's sitting on your sewing table.
SEW Fix This: The hem you keep meaning to fix, or the alteration that's been in a bag since spring.
SEW Upcycle: Give something old a whole new life.
Same price, same welcome, whatever the theme.
Next SEW Circle: SEW Your Thing | Thursday, November 5
What to bring?
Whatever you're currently working on — a half-finished project, a repair, an alteration, something you've been meaning to get back to.
We're a fully equipped studio with most of the machines and tools you'll need — but if you'd rather work on your own machine or tools, that's more than welcome too.
No project in mind? We'll have a couple of easy project options ready for you to pick from, or find one in our Patterns & Tutorials collection.
Fabric & Notions from our Retail Corner are available for purchase, or bring your own materials, or an old, unwanted textile or clothing item to upcycle.
What to expect?
No instruction, no curriculum - just space, tables, machines, equipment, and good company!
Come with your project and sew at your own pace, your own way. Our team will be around, but SEW-Circle is not an instructional class - it's your time to use the studio, get creative, and SEW alongside others.
SEW Circle happens once a month. It’s not designed for finishing a project in one sitting, but for chipping away at it steadily, alongside people who share the same love for making things.
SEW Circle FAQs
Here's what to know before you pull up a chair at SEW Circle.

A little helps! SEW Circle is best if you already know the basics and have a project on the go. Brand new to sewing? Start with a drop-in class. You'll learn the essentials in one session, and then you'll be ready to bring a project to SEW Circle.
-
Nope. Our studio is fully equipped with machines and tools, so you can just bring your project. If you'd rather sew on your own machine, you're welcome to bring it along.

No problem. We'll have a couple of easy projects ready for you to choose from, and fabric and notions are available in our Retail Corner. Or have a look at our Patterns & Tutorials for ideas! You can also bring an old garment or textile and give it a new life.

Class packs are for our regular adult classes and can't be used for SEW Circle. SEW Circle is $20 per session, and you can book it on its own any month you like.
